Liverpool to sign Rangers starlet Danny Wilson

Liverpool have reached an agreement with Scottish giants Glasgow Rangers for the transfer of young defender Danny Wilson. Rangers chief executive Martin Bain told the club’s official website that the Gers had agreed a deal in principle that would see Liverpool pay £2m upfront for the youngster’s services, with the potential value of the transfer being £5m.

Wilson rose to prominence last year at Ibrox and showed composure much beyond his years. Liverpool have been tracking the youngster’s progress for some time now and should Wilson agree personal terms, he will become new Reds boss Roy Hodgson’s second signing of the summer window.

Wilson currently has only one year left on his Rangers contract.
